So it’s July. We’re in the Third Quarter. Not the first, not the second. But the third. 2016 was going to be your year. It was going to be the year you launched or extended your business. But what happened? Let me guess, fear and excuses. Trust me, I’ve been in this game for a while now and there will never be a right time. I think I’ve heard every excuse in the book. You’re waiting for your youngest to enter kindergarten. You’re going to work extra hours at work or get a second job to fund the new venture. However, you’re too tired mentally and physically to get anything done.
Do me a favor. STOP IT!!! Stop making excuses. Stop being scared. You are worthy. You deserve to be successful. Now, I want you to ride down in two columns. All of your fears/Excuses and one column and the steps you will take in the other. Next, I want you to write the date and your name at the right-hand corner of the paper. Once you have completed the directions. file this paper somewhere that you will be able to locate it in the near future.
Directions: Turn you “Can’t(s)” into “Can(s)” Example: Fear: I’m scared people will not purchase any of my products. The steps you will take: I will market my business so I will attract my ideal clients. Now, you have to decide how bad you want this. I want you to be successful but do you really want it? You say, you want it. But how bad you really want it. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy. For most people, it won’t. Some days you will want to quit. Some days you will think to yourself why did I even start this business. But if your “WHY” is concrete and solid It will be your support system.
When friends, family, and spouse, don’t. Your “WHY” will keep you going. Plus, Why give up without even trying? Don’t give up before you give it your all? Trust me, I’ve spoken with women who wanted to start a blog. However, can’t afford the domain and hosting. My suggestion would be to create your Blog on Blogger or WordPress until you could afford a domain name. Trust me, sponsors are not looking at that. If you’re scared of creating a blog because too many people are doing it. Get over it, not trying to be mean. I also suggest to people to create the blog posts. However, do not make the blog public until you’re comfortable.
People rebrand all the time in the Blog world so do not feel pressured for perfection.
I see people every day start successful businesses with nothing. They have very little saved and some people all they have is an iPhone. Not a fancy computer, not anyone supporting them. They just have their WHY.
